You've been hearing about all the money being made online and have decided to take the plunge. Congratulations. If you've done your homework you also realize you need customers at your site. Traffic generation! Ugh! At this point this phrase may keep you awake at nights. Pay per click, too expensive. SEO (search engine optimization.) Exactly what is that again? Adsense! Forget about it, my mind has already gone into overload! Ok, no need to panic. Believe it or not there are some simple, and economical methods you can use to get your business started. Let's look at 
three very effective and economical methods (free) to market your business on the internet.

No. 1: Forum Posting To best utilize this technique locate some forums that are related to the product and/or niche you're involved in. In such an online community you will find folks who already have an interest in the type product(s) you are marketing. This will enable you to immediately generate exposure for your products by simply including their links in the signature box allotted to you when you set up your account at the forum. You should also be able to develop some good relationships with the folks who show an interest in the product/subject you are promoting. Realize that this is a very targeted crowd for you and your products. Now you'll have a warm market to promote to.

No. 2: Article Marketing Writing and publishing articles on the internet is another terrific (and free) strategy to promote your products and business. If you can talk you can write. When you write an article try to make it somewhat related to what you're promoting. Most importantly make it interesting to read. If people don't read your articles, then it's just been wasted effort on your part. Your article length should be between 350 and 700 words (about the space it takes to fill one page on a word document would be perfect.) The key is the resource box you put at the end of the article telling (briefly) the reader a little about you. In this box you'll also include the site location/address you're promoting. Done correctly, you submit the article(s) to various article submission directories. These directories, in turn, provide back links to your site. Additionally, any reader that may want to use your article as content for their site will have to keep your resource box intact creating even more back links to your website.

No. 3: Free Classifieds The last strategy covered here will be the classified ad websites which again are free to use. This method is very simple. You just post your ad with your site location included and you're done. Many of these sites are huge and generally so are their their page rankings. This is important since the back links you'll get off these sites and those of most article directories will boost your own websites page rank. This is an invaluable benefit for you and your business. One of the most popular and talked about classified sites would be craigslist.com.

Well now you have three simple to use traffic generation tactics to promote your business and make money online. The only ingredient you need to add is not more money but your own efforts. To your business success!
